This elegant pendant is crowned with an alluring deep blue emerald cut tanzanite weighing approx. 1ct, haloed by ten bright white brilliant cut diamonds with excellent VS1 clarity – H colour, approx. 0.10ct each – 1ct total.
Tanzanite was not discovered until the late 1960s when a group of Maasai herders stumbled upon the blue stones by chance in the hills of Tanzania. They were first believed to be sapphires but later identified as a variety of blue “zoisite” and the first of its kind. Its rarity and intense indigo-blue colouring have made it the most celebrated gem of the 20th century and is highly sought after today.
The stones are set in an 18ct white gold gallery with an open back and London hallmarks stamped across the bale. It’s a glamorous pendant, showcasing a gorgeous collection of natural gems, complete with a fine 18ct gold chain to display it on.
We recommend you insure for £3,500. We can provide a written Valuation on completion of the sale.
