Set in 9ct gold, this rare and substantial antique padlock pendant is in full working order and snaps shut nicely. It is beautifully and ornately engraved on the front and back, and it features three bright blue turquoise stones arranged in a flower motif in the centre.

Antique and vintage jewellery is heavy in symbolism and such padlocks were usually given and worn as love tokens.

This is a great sized padlock, measuring 1.7cm x 1.7cm without the clasp, and 2.5cm long including the clasp. It remains in splendid condition, and is a good weight of 3.83g. This beautiful padlock's versatility means you can either slip it onto a split ring or charm bracelet, or thread a fine chain through its loop, to wear as a pendant.
